
Ioana Vasile is a cinematographer driven by a deep commitment to shaping visual language in close collaboration with directors. Born in Romania and raised in Canada after her family sought refuge, she grew up shaped by a deep appreciation for storytelling and the transformative power of images.
Now based in Los Angeles, Ioana was selected as an ASC Vision Mentee in 2021 and went on to earn her Master’s degree from the American Film Institute. Her work spans feature films, television pilots, commercials, and music videos, reflecting both versatility and a strong visual sensibility.
Her latest feature, The Dead Thing (dir. Elric Kane), premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival and was later released on Shudder and AMC+. She is currently a 2025–2026 Cinematography Fellow with Women In Film.
